This residence combines many green building features with handcrafted details. Red Alder was cleared from the site and used as flooring and trim. Salvaged old growth Douglas Fir was used for beams. Many of the fixtures, doors and cabinets were salvaged from earlier use, such as the porcelain claw foot bathtub. Kitchen countertops are made from cellulose fiber from recycled paper. Radiant floor heat provides cost effective comfort. Cotton batt insulation from recycled blue jeans helps to keep the warmth in.
