The thick bale walls of this house allow for wonderful deep windowsills and provide excellent insulation. Good design keeps the bale wall elevated above the ground, the square plan allows for efficient construction, and deep courtyards with translucent roofs bring natural light to the center of the home. Other green features are recycled beams from a 100 yr old warehouse in Vancouver, recycled glass vanity tops and vanities from repurposed antique furniture. |
